• /? not working in non-ext

From Amessyroom@VERT/TL-QWK to All on Wed Oct 9 04:59:00 2024
Had a user indicate they could not figure out how to exit editor.

Went to user configuration, and selected No for external editor.

When trying to enter /? there was no response

E-mail (User name or number): amr Just went to next line (tried to cut-n-paste capture but didn't work above).

The /s command did work, but /? did not result in expected help menu.

Maybe you were in raw I/O mode at the time?

How would I determine this ? I was connected via SyncTerm I believe, if not it was ftelnet. I'll repeat the action i both.

I enter text on first line , and /? on second line in either syncterm or ftelnet connected to my bbs. toolazy.synchro.net:2323 and it returns to next line without help displayed.
I type /s on 3rd line and it saves message successfully.

How would I determine this ?

Hitting Ctrl-Z (while not in an editor), toggles raw I/O mode. When entering a message in raw I/O mode, you get an introduction text like this:
Raw message input (2673000 bytes max). Ctrl-Z to save, Ctrl-C to abort.

I was connected via SyncTerm I believe, if
not it was ftelnet. I'll repeat the action i both.

I doubt the terminal is a factor.

I enter text on first line , and /? on second line in either syncterm or ftelnet connected to my bbs. toolazy.synchro.net:2323 and it returns to next line without help displayed.
I type /s on 3rd line and it saves message successfully.

Maybe you weren't actually using the internal line editor. Share a screen capture to help us see what you're seeing.

Try again. I restarted it and hopefully daemon will not die. Wasn't able to get it working systemd yet.
