ehh.. I happened to see that, and saw you also mention to him something about if you can't read the wiki/documentation and learn from it, then maybe BBSing isn't a hobby for him, and if someone like you can set up and run BBS then anyone can.

I can be added to THAT list as well. I find a search for an issue on Google will stand a good chance of getting you at least a couple fixes. Thank goodness for that one. ____________
I wish the search function was more effective in Synchronet - there have been times I've looked for a fix I read in a message on my BBS and found
it on someone else's board in a web search. :(

That kind of childish ain't it?
And I guess along the lines he said, "if you know the solution wouldn't
it be better to share a link or help?"
I was trying to setup a sync test system but after comments like those I stopped asking and started a chatgpt project and asking it question
which it won't sigh or shrug, it's a matter of perspective, just my
humble opinion as someone that returned after two decades and is trying
to get people to join to to scare them with bad attitude, my two cents.

My experience with Synchronet is that if you are able to describe your
issue and provide information about what you are attempting, you will
likely find someone willing to give you some good info. Yes, that info might very well be a link to a wiki page, but if that link proves helpful I am glad they shared it.
I don't expect them to set it up for me. With all the features, I do
expect there will be some things that will frustrate me, but that is not
the fault of the people trying to help.
I also do realize that, like on the internet, there will be some not so helpful responses and just try to ignore those.
surprised (maybe not) how AI solves tech problems sometimes. ____________
It's not AI, it's someone else's message bases indexed by Google and available online instead of looking at my own local message bases.
